My name is Katy Parisi, and I am a double major in Political Science and Strategic Communications with a minor in Public and Professional Writing at High Point University. I hope to one day attend law school and own my own law firm. Throughout my life, I was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader and won the biggest competition in the cheerleading world, NCA nationals in Dallas, Texas. From my experiences in the sport, I learned dedication, grit, and leadership. Something interesting about myself is that I am a vegan, and I actually love vegetables.

What are we learning if our ideas are only being reinforced? A problem that many Americans have is that they think they are more educated on a topic than they really are. Freedom of the press relates to social media in the way that it gives people an outlet to create user-generated content and allow for their own voice to be heard. Blog 6: Reflection on Technology

Reflection on Deep Fakes After reading Joe's  blog post , it is scary how much false information could be passed to people who were uneducated on deep fakes, didn't know they existed or didn't know how to tell if it was real or not. Words, phrases, and overall ideas could be attached to major influencers or political figures names that they never once said, and it would look to the general public like it came right from their own mouths.  The life of someone you admire or even your life could be ruined by an edited photo or video showing that you said or stand for an idea or concept that could be offensive to other people. Even if in real life you never said those things, proving that the photo or video that said them were a deep fake and mending your social image and platform could be difficult and time-consuming.
